Application of Wireless Sensor & Mobile Technology in Education Using BLE Beacon

Abstract

Smart Cities, Smart Campus, Smart Education, Smart School are the buzz words and trend. More and more technology is being deployed in Education Sector to aid effective administration and effective learning. Technology is playing a major role and rapid penetration of internet and low cost availability of wireless and hand held devices are becoming a catalyst in education sector. The affordability of the technology has led to large acceptance and initiatives in education sector. The proposed system uses BLE communication between Beacon devices and the student smart devices to register the student attendance and location automatically in the school database. The system is also used to auto start subject courses when respective subject teachers enter a classroom. It also aids the students to find path in larger education campus. Teacher at any point of time can view student attendance by a click of a button, and in case of emergencies, student can be traced about their whereabouts.
